Celebrating 50 Years as the Elkins public library!
April is National Poetry Month!! The Elkins-Randolph County Public Library is partnering with downtown Elkins businesses to organize not one, but two poetry scavenger hunts!!!
Participants can choose between 2 options: complete the kids and families scavenger hunt or take on the challenge poetry scavenger hunt for adults.
Local businesses all around downtown Elkins are participating by posting poetic clues in their windows for the month of April. Your task will be to locate all the clues. Each clue will include some poetry, a picture to give you a hint, the ERCPL’s logo, and a logo indicating the poem belongs in the kids’ or adults’ scavenger hunt. Your job will be to use the poem and pictures to decide what poet who wrote the poem!
You can work with a team of up to 4 people. Your team can be your family or a group of friends.
Print out a scavenger hunt sheet or request one to be picked up at the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library. Fill out the participant contact information (so the library can reach you if you win a prize!).
Get out your walking shoes, notebooks, and pens. Bring along that brain. Leave your smart phone at home…you know deep down your family and friends are smarter than a device!
For each scavenger hunt entry, you must include the name of the business where the clue is posted and the name of the poet.
Local businesses all around downtown Elkins are participating by posting poetic clues in their front windows. All clues are within walking distance of one another.
Scavenger hunt clues are contained in the area between Randolph Ave, Martin St, and 1stSt in downtown Elkins, WV.
Participants can submit their findings at the ERCPL to win a prize. Email your list to email@example.com or drop it off at the library Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm.
Prizes and prize winners will be announced in May.
