Celebrating 50 Years as the Elkins public library!
The American Library Association has awarded the ERCPL a Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries Grant to support community engagement projects. The grant money will be used to purchase equipment for a podcast booth to be installed at the library. Patrons will be able to book the use of the room and equipment, take broadcasting classes, produce their own podcasts, and learn about modern communication technology.
READSquared is the new software the library will be using to track reading programs for all ages. including the popular “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” and Summer Reading incentives. Can’t leave in time to pick up materials from the library? No problem! Call us for check out over the phone and we will set you up with a designated locker and 4 digit code to open a lock and retrieve your materials. Each locker is named after an author, and is waiting to hold your items for you until you can get here. There is no cost associated with this service. 304-637-0287
April is National Poetry Month!! The Elkins-Randolph County Public Library is partnering with downtown Elkins businesses to organize
not one, but two poetry scavenger hunts!!!
Participants can choose between 2 options: complete the kids and families scavenger hunt or take on the challenge poetry scavenger hunt for adults.
If your family loved last year’s Great Grinch Chase, you’ll love the children’s poetry scavenger hunt.

Preservation Alliance of West Virginia serves as the statewide grassroots organization dedicated to historic
preservation in our Mountain State.
The Elkins Randolph County Public Library has been approved for a Full-time AmeriCorp volunteer through the WV Preservation Alliance for one year. This candidate will spearhead the digital preservation of Randolph County historical materials for public use online.
In keeping with the Covid-19 capacity regulations, we are now allowing up to 10 people in the Meeting Room at one time. We are offering appointments for use of the room and its technology. We require a $25 deposit and $25 for use of the room. Deposits are refunded after inspection. Schedule now to guarantee availability. The room, furniture and doors are cleaned according to CDC recommendations between each use. Online payments are accepted. No reservation will be honored until the deposit is submitted.
All library patrons are required to wear a mask.
